Ruby and Millie: Green nails.

So a huge sorry for the lack of posts lately.
I have been so behind the last couple of weeks but it will get better.
Promise. :)

Now this week and last week Boots have been having a 75% off sale on Ruby and Millie products.
This nail varnish (Which I will talk about now) I managed to get in Manchester.

Now I love green nail varnish but I usually go for a more dark or metallic green.
So this one was a more unusual choice for me.

This is what it looks like on my nails in a low light.

And this is what it looks like in the bottle.

The colour is neon-ish or has my mum decided to call it... puce green but if your looking for it Ruby and Millie call it colour 710C.

Now the main benefits was that it only took 3 coats to get a fantastic deep coverage, which is good for a quite light/neon colour.

It is a colour I wouldn't normally go for but it's fast becoming a new favourite of mine.
Plus it's bang on trend for the summer.
A winner in my book.
If your Boots store has any colours left it's just £2.50.
You can also get it for a short time (Until stock runs out) online at www.boots.com

Do you think it's a nice colour? Is green really in?

Do you have a watch?

Hey Bloggers.
Hope you are all good on this lovely warm night.

I wanted to mention some new products I have recently brought.

Avon Nail Prowear in Sunshine and Decadence

As you can see from the picture I have also painted my nails in both colours.
Now I have used Avon Nail varnishes for years and they used to be amazing, so I fancied trying some because I haven't brought any from Avon in a long time.

So I was so disappointed in the formula for these ones.
The varnish was so thin. That the purple (Check SpellingDecadence) took three coats to look decent and the yellow (Sunshine) took five coats.
Now 5 coats is just a little bit excessive and even then it still didn't fully cover the nail. So it would probably need a sixth coat.

Six coats.
I have seriously more better things to do with my time and it is not going to be spent literally watching paint dry.

A huge disappointment.
Especially when the colours were so lovely.

Coloured crackle?

Hey bloggers.
Hope you have had a super duper week.

After the several blog posts I have done on the Barry M's instant effect nail varnish in black
The trend for crackle is still big.

But it's changing...

Colour.

Nails Inc have just announced new colours of crackle including purple (Which I would love to try) and pink.

Barry M are bringing out a new range of colours at only £3.99 each, so far though I haven't seen them on the shelf in shops in Nottingham yet so I'm hoping they will be out soon.
They come in Blue, pink and white. The white is the one I'm looking forward to. I love dark background nails with bright foregrounds :)

17 at boots has also brought out a shade of crackle at a reasonable price.
The best part.

It's in a colour that no one else has done.(Or at least I think so)
Gold.

Well it looks more like a gold silver mix.

Now I have tried the 17 today.
I used Nails inc on my little finger and Barry M in racing green on my ring finger.
Now I know when you use crackle, it's going to be unique everytime.
But I prefer how it looks on the green then to the plum shade.

That said, it does dry very quickly and is a very nice change from the black crackle that everyone has been wearing.
Plus it would look amazing over more dark nail colours, such as Navy and Black.

So 17 is OK and I will wear it but I think I will wait for the more wearable Barry M colours.
Now just find a rich man to buy me the nails Inc special effects in purple. :):):)

Greige is the new Black...

Hey Bloggers

Long time no speak but I am now back to my blog winning ways.

So it's time I talked about one of the new trends in nail varnish colours and how to get it at a bargain price.

Greige is the new colour of nails. It is a merge of the words grey and beige and it is a fantastic way of making your nails look extremely sophisticated and at first I was really not sure that the colour suited me but after about an hour I was hooked. I am really loving that fact that nail colours have sort of come back into fashion and that more and more colours are appearing on beauty shelves.

The best thing about greige is that at the moment you can get this look at a reasonable price because of a new diet coke promotion in boots. If you buy two diet coke 500ml bottles (Which cost about £2.50 for the two depending on where you live) you get a free nails inc colour for free.

New York is a bright pink colour, Milan is a hot red colour, Paris is a beautiful purple/plum colour and London is the nude/Greige colour.

All four are fab colours and if you brought a nails inc colour on there own it would be at £10 but by buying the diet coke your a getting a nails inc colour nail varnish for a quarter of the price and staying bang on fashion trend. Bargain!

Ps Blogger is not letting me move pictures at the moment so I just stuck them at top. So there is a picture of all four nail colours and a picture of me. (Without make up oooops and my new diet coke nails inc London nail colour and me wearing said colour)
