Where did classic nails go?

Hey Bloggers.
Hope you are having a lovely day.

Thought I would just mention something that seems to be missing from all the beauty pages lately.
Now even I have been talking about bright and wild nail colours lately.
I do love a good trend me.

So I decided to paint my nails the other night but I decided didn't want anything too bright for once.
So I went back to a classic look and I remembered how much I loved it.
Yet it's seems to have gone out of fashion.

Yep a it's simple French manicure.
Now of course an traditional French manicure is either beige or pink with white tips.
But I went a little different.
Mainly because I never seem to have any light pink nail varnish.

So I used a shimmery Lilac colour.

Now I know that the white tips aren't that great but it was completely freehand and also done with my more weak left hand.

Yet I love this look and the fact it really is like an art form and I'm quite gutted that it seems to have gone off trend.

Bright colours are all well and good but some outfits need a more sophisticated nail look.

Not like the false nail French manicured nails

But a bit of free hand.

Like the good old days.

So forget pale block colour or even neon brights.

The French is coming back and I for one will be at the front of the queue.

Cracked nails. Oh yes :)

Hope you have had a good week.

Just thought I would show you a picture of an old friend for two reasons.

One I want to prove that I do use the products I recommend and two that even if a product is not as on trend anymore. That we can all break the beauty rules a little bit.

This is the Barry M special effects nail varnish. I reviewed this about 5 months ago and I loved it but my new twist is not to use it over the top of colour.

I just paint a base coat so you get the cracked nail effect over natural nails.

I like this look, mainly because I can wear it to work and if it chips. It just adds to the pattern.

This is just a little post for today.

But I have some new ones lined up for the end of this week.

Plus it's pay day so I'm sure I will have some new products too.
