Lush retro order.

So a few weeks ago I ordered some retro products from Lush.
I'm very excited to try them out but I thought I would show you first what I bought.
Then I can give a review in a later blog post.

First two products are bubble bars.
Now I haven't used these ones in years. So I'm very excited to try them out again.
The white one is Ice Hotel
A mixture of mint and Lavender.
So calms you down whilst refreshing you at the same time.

The pink one is It's a date.
(I could do with a real one at the moment but the bubble bar will have to suffice)
Is a pink fruity concoction, with tangerine oil and it even has a little piece of date on the top.
Pretty.
Though so far it has dyed half my stuff pink.
Has you can see from the other photos.

The shower gel is Tramp.
Now I used to use Tramp years ago and I'm looking forward to using it again.
A Melissa and patchouli combination that's quite hard to describe in words, but it's green and called tramp.
What more can you ask for really?

The body lotion is my favourite and I am still gutted that Lush ever discontinued it.
Potion.
Full of Rose and Tangerine oil. It's smells divine.
I wish Lush made a perfume in it because this is definitely my signature smell and it moisturises like a dream.

So expect a more detailed review in a couple of weeks but I'm so excited to try these products out. That I might just have to run myself a bath right now...

Garnier Nutrisse Ultra color: Review.

Now in the nine years I have dyed my hair. It has been a fast array of colours.
From Orange.

Blue/Black.

Red.

Pink.

And even multi coloured.

But I realised that my true hair colour will always be blonde.
So for the last six months I have been back to my stereotypical blonde ways and the dye I have been using to do it is Garnier Nutrisse Ultra color in Ice Blonde.

Now it's fantastic for me because it lightens my very dark blonde roots, without me having to use a pre-lightener before hand. Win.

Here is some classy photos of me looking attractive whilst the dye is on my head. (That was sarcasm by the way)

This is the end result of thirty minutes of hair dye.

Now I find the Garnier Nutrisse is great for blondes. It keeps my hair hydrated. (Mainly by the intense conditioner you put on after dye-ing your hair) and I find that I only have to use it ever six weeks or so.
I have very thin and easily breakable hair. So to find a decent hair dye that looks after my hair, dyes my very dark roots, is affordable and doesn't look like a fake blonde. Is hard to find.

But I think I have definitely found all of the above in Garnier Nutrisse.
You can find Garnier Nutrisse in major supermarkets, Boots and Superdrug.

Have you tried Garnier Nutrisse Ultra color?
Did it work for you?

GlossyBox nail varnishes. O.P.I and Ciate.

So in June and July's Glossybox I received some nail varnishes.
In July's box I got Ciate in Kitten Heels and in June's box I got O.P.I in Coronation.

Now the Ciate is full size and the O.P.I was a mini.
Now I have never used Ciate before but I was very impressed.
I am not normally a red nail varnish kind of girl but what I liked about Ciate was the coverage.
Two coats was all I needed and it dried quickly too.

Plus it had a flat, wide brush which made applying Ciate a doddle.

The kitten heels shade also had a gold shimmer running through it, which for me made the colour more likeable.

Now I have used O.P.I for years and love the brand. So I was very excited to get a glitter nail varnish. YAY GLITTER.
Now Coronation on it's own is very beautiful, but because the silver base is not very transparent it just doesn't work over other nail varnish.
This is a huge shame because it had some many gorgeous types of glitter in. Something you don't get to see very often in glitter nail varnish.
However. It's coverage was great and it looks fantastic even on it's own.

This is what the varnishes looked like on my nails.
O.P.I on my index.
Ciate on my middle and both on my ring finger.
(Sorry about my stubs. I have had a few nail breakages recently.)

I definitely think that I will be purchasing some new Ciate nail varnishes in the near future.
Not only is the brand good but did you see the cute little bow on the bottle. Divine. :)
But with O.P.I I may just stick with the more jazzy colours.

You can get O.P.I from www.opi.com/ and you can get Ciate from www.ciate.co.uk/

The wedding nail trend.

So a couple of weeks ago Vanessa Hudgens started a nail varnish trend.
Now my readers know I love a nail trend.

This trend however doesn't have a name. So I'm giving it one.
The Wedding nail.
Vanessa Hudgens Beauty

Because it involves painting your ring finger a different colour to your other nails.

Now I tried this earlier.
Now sadly it did chip a little but you get the general gist.
Now Vanessa painted her nails in similar tones.

I went for clashing colours.

I used Nails Inc in Copacabana on the wedding finger and Misguided in sea blue on the other fingers.
You can get the Missguided nail Varnish free with this month's UK Cosmo.

Now I am loving this look and I'm definitely going to try out some more colour combinations.
I will do a photo post on them later in the week. I promise better painted nails :)

So is the wedding nail trend a winner for you?
I would love to hear your comments.

SteamCream Review

Hello Bloggers
Sorry I have been away.
I'm back now though. Yay. :)

So a couple of weeks ago I got given some pots of SteamCream to try out.
Now SteamCream for those who don't know is a cream that can be used to moisturise face, body and hands.
It's has won numerous awards including the Beauty insiders choice 2010.

Now here's why SteamCream is different to other body lotions and creams.

"STEAMCREAM have pioneered the use of a steam technique to create this unique, gentle and loosely-bound emulsion. This looseness allows each ingredient – including a moisturising and soothing oatmeal infusion, orange flower water and healing lavender oil – to breakdown and penetrate areas of the skin that other creams find hard to reach.

So it's the steam infusion that makes this cream so good. Wonder where they came up with the name. :)

Now what I adore about SteamCream is how healing it is.
I suffered severe sunburn on my arms with the lovely weather we had a couple of weeks ago and when I put SteamCream on my arms. It didn't sting and within three uses. The redness had gone and for once I actually have a tan and no peeling either. Win.
It's also amazing on dry skin, eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.

This is mainly due to the lavender and soothing oatmeal. Lovely natural ingredients. (We like this a lot)
It's also vegan. (Yay to not being tested on animals)
The smell is not like a perfumed body lotion, but like an old school concoction made in someone's lab. It reminds me an old school remedy.
I also love how thin the formula is, because it makes applying the SteamCream a breeze and it means you use less, which is always a plus.

Plus the tins are so unbelievably cute and come in loads of limited editions and patterns and because it's only 75g it can go in hand luggage on your flight too or fit snug in your handbag.

SteamCream is available on ASOS or online at www.steamcream.eu
For £10.95 a tin. It does sound like a lot but it's worth the cash.

Ruby and Millie: Green nails.

So a huge sorry for the lack of posts lately.
I have been so behind the last couple of weeks but it will get better.
Promise. :)

Now this week and last week Boots have been having a 75% off sale on Ruby and Millie products.
This nail varnish (Which I will talk about now) I managed to get in Manchester.

Now I love green nail varnish but I usually go for a more dark or metallic green.
So this one was a more unusual choice for me.

This is what it looks like on my nails in a low light.

And this is what it looks like in the bottle.

The colour is neon-ish or has my mum decided to call it... puce green but if your looking for it Ruby and Millie call it colour 710C.

Now the main benefits was that it only took 3 coats to get a fantastic deep coverage, which is good for a quite light/neon colour.

It is a colour I wouldn't normally go for but it's fast becoming a new favourite of mine.
Plus it's bang on trend for the summer.
A winner in my book.
If your Boots store has any colours left it's just £2.50.
You can also get it for a short time (Until stock runs out) online at www.boots.com

Do you think it's a nice colour? Is green really in?
