Soap. Really?

Hello all.
I hope you have had a great day today.
I just want to say a huge thank you to all my followers and readers for keeping the blog going, either by promoting or by recommending. It means a lot. :)

So soap.
Yes soap.
When did soap become so underrated in beauty.
In years past, soap was a main staple of the beauty regime. You washed your face and your body with it. Everyone remembers a bar of pears or imperial leather in the bathroom.
Yet now in 2011, soap seems to have gone off the radar.

This is down to two main reasons.
One is that people said it dried out the skin, so wasn't good for moisturizing the body and especially for the face. As your face needs more moisturizing.
Secondly. People have suggested that it isn't has hygienic because soap doesn't break down bacteria.

So over time soap has gone out of fashion. Mainly to be favoured by shower gel, hand wash and face wash.

But I think it's time soap came back on the map.
Soap is not as unhygienic as you think. Most soaps now contain ingredients which stop the promotion of bacteria and a lot of soaps now contains moisterizers so skin isn't dried out.
Even recently Jennifer Aniston has said she only washes her face with soap.

Now soap can be moisturizing, exfoliating and even fun
For me the place where you can buy the best soap has to be Lush.
Not only are they presented fabulously in the shop. Just like in the picture above
But they are colourful, moisturizing, and above all natural.

So to celebrate the return to soap here are my top five Lush soaps.

One.
Honey I washed the kids.
The best seller in the lush range.
This honey/toffee scented soap not only smells amazing but it contains honey water which makes your skin so soft.
Even people/children with sensitive skin can use this.
An all round winner.

Two
13 Unlucky for dirt.
The soap that Lush made especially for nurses. Now for people who say soap isn't hygienic, this beautiful red soap even kills MRSA but doesn't dry out hands.
Filled with lots of oregano with a rose petal infusion.
This soap is must for the kitchen.

Three
Porridge
With oatmeal and orange juice. When mixed with warm water creates a calming milk for the body. The oatmeal also exfoliates dead skin cells, making skin silky soft.
The smell is also something to behold.

Four
Lemslip
Which at first glance may look a little like cheese but...
This bright soap contains cocoa butter and Irish moss seaweed.
Lemslip soap is great if you have oily skin but don't want to feel like your stripping your skin of all moisture.
Contains lemon and lime oil, which will really wake you up in the morning.

Five
Noubar
If you like nuts or are just a bit nutty this green soap may be for you.
Containing Pistachios, walnuts and peanuts.
It not only exfoliates but also nuts contain a lot of oil.
So are extremely moisturizing.
Definitely one that will get your bathroom visitors talking.

I hope that maybe next time you pass by Lush, you will have a smell and maybe even a try of these soaps.
Not only do they last longer then shower gel but they are also better for the environment has there is very little packaging.
So a win for your wallet and a win for the planet.
